Catch A Lift Fund (CAL) is a 501c(3) non-profit charity that provides gym memberships, remote coaching, adaptive and home gym equipment and access to fitness, wellness and nutritional information for combat wounded veterans across America.
CAL was founded by Lynn Coffland to honor the legacy of her brother, Army Cpl. Chris Coffland. Chris was killed in Afghanistan in 2009, shortly after enlisting a month shy of his 42nd birthday. He believed physical fitness was essential to mental wellbeing, and idea shared by all in the world of fitness. Wherever he was, whatever he was doing, he always found time to “catch a lift” at the nearest gym. It is through this belief in fitness that Catch A Lift Fund’s mission was formed – to reconnect veterans to fitness as a tool for lifelong wellbeing and healing.
